With the Euro at an all time low there is no better time to visit Turkey. It has all ways represented good value for money and is now even better compared to its neighbours who use the Euro. You can eat at a local restaurant for approximately £8 for a 2 course meal.
You can fly from regional airports in around 3 hours which makes the fantastic city of Istanbul a good short break destination as well as the coast being a good destination for family holidays and couples of all ages. You can really have it all; history, culture, some of the best beaches in Europe, and much more.
I can recommend the harbour towns of Kas and Kalkan which are both very pretty, charming and escape most of the tourist trail. They are an ideal base is explore the Lycian Coast. You can scuba dive, paraglide, explore markets, relax on a beautiful long stretch of beach, visit an amphitheatre or the underwater sunken city of Kekova to name but a few of the options.
Other warm destinations to consider are Croatia, Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia while city breaks in Prague and Poland are always excellent value for money.
